Be our guest Restaurant is a Disney Signature restaurant located in the heart of the Magic Kingdom. The restaurant features classic French Cuisine with an American twist making this dining experience both conventional as well as adventurous. Not only is this a wonderful dining restaurant, It also has one of the most beautiful interiors of any restaurant in Walt Disney World.
Be Our Guest Restaurant is a Disney Restaurant that will appeal to just about everyone. From the pickiest of eaters to the most complex palate, there is something for everyone at Be Our Guest. We have been dining at Be Our Guest Since it opened and we can safely say this is one of the best if not the best Restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. There is a bit of a caveat though, while dining in Walt Disney World is never cheap, Be Our Guest Restaurant is on the higher end of restaurants in Disney World and is a bit pricey. If you are trying to dine on a budget you may want to think twice about dining here.
Before I start talking about the cuisine I would like to talk about the atmosphere inside of this restaurant. As you walk through the giant doors of Be Our Guest Restaurant you immediately feel like you're in a fairytale, you really feel like you have just entered Beast's Castle. We where sat in the largest of the three dining rooms, The Grand Ballroom and the attention to detail is second to none. The marble walls, the beautiful murals on the ceilings, the crystal chandeliers, everywhere you look you find something more beautiful than the next. My favorite part of the Grand Ballroom is without a doubt the large French-Style windows in the back of the room. Through these windows you can see the snowy french countryside from the movie and it looks so real you have to double take just to make sure.
Starters-For starters, I went with the French Onion Soup (as I have for the past three years) as i believe this is the mark of any good French restaurant. The starters came out within 15 minutes of us placing our order and where presented beautifully. I can honestly say that this is the best French Onion soup I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The Mozzarella was fresh and was perfectly melted across the entire surface of the bowl. The bread wasn't too soggy like you sometimes get with a French onion soup, it still retained its shape and didn't fall apart when you tried to get some on your spoon and the broth was perfectly seasoned. If I had one complaint it would be that the portion was a little small, keep in mind I hadn't eaten all day so i was starving. My wife had no complaints about her Garden Salad either. The lettuce was fresh and had a nice crunch and the rest of the vegetables where just as fresh and perfectly firm. She must have really loved her salad because she ate every last piece and left nothing for me to try.
Entrees: For our entrees I went with the Grilled Strip Steak served with pommes frites (French Fries) and a green bean vegetable medley while my wife went with the pan seared chicken breast which came with a White Bean Cassoulet and an Arugula Salad. Our entrees came out around 10-15 minutes after our starters and everything was prepared beautifully. My steak was cooked to a beautiful Medium Rare (I like my meat Red) while my wife's chicken was cooked all the way through and was nice and juicy.
When it comes to steak, especially expensive steak I usually like the less is more approach, I like to be able to taste the meat I am spending $30 on. Be Our Guest Restaurant did not disappoint. My steak was seasoned with Salt, Pepper and a Garlic Herb butter and it was the perfect compliment of flavors, no one element over powered the other and the taste of the beautifully prepared meat wasn't buried in an unnecessary amount of seasoning. Just like everything else I had the pleasure of eating at Be Our Guest Restaurant, my vegetables where cooked perfectly, they weren't soft and mushy but they also weren't under cooked and crunchy either, they where just right.
Desserts: Try the "Grey Stuff" it's delicious....No seriously, you should try it, it really is delicious. Dessert was by far my favorite part of our meal (As it usually is,) not only were our desserts delicious, the way the desserts are presented and served is like nothing I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing before. When you have finished your entrees, your waiter/waitress will wheel over a beautiful cart full every sweet you could ever dream of. We decided to split "The Grey Stuff" but the lemon raspberry cream puff and triple chocolate cupcake seemed equally as delicious. The Grey Stuff is actually a cookie and cream panna cotta that has been whipped into a creamy dessert and if you like Oreos or cookies and cream ice cream you will love it.
Be Our Guest Restaurant is exactly what a restaurant should be at the happiest place on earth, the beautiful atmosphere, exquisite food and exceptional service all add up for a truly magical dining experience. While not the cheapest of Walt Disney World Restaurants, you really do get what you pay for and this is without a doubt a must-do restaurant for foodies visiting Walt Disney World.
