1900 Park Fare, was by far our Favorite restaurant on our holiday this year. This was our third holiday to Walt Disney World but my daughters first and we were looking for somewhere "special" to celebrate her 9th Birthday, being a huge Cinderella fan we decided to surprise her with dinner at 1900 Park Fare and we are so glad we did.
From the minute we arrived at the Grand Floridian we were instantly stunned by the beauty and grandeur of the property. We checked in for our reservation and were led to a waiting area in front of beautiful ornate closed doors, this added to the excitement for my daughter as she still had no idea why we were there. After a few minutes our host opened the doors and we were greeted with the beautiful dinning room and the sight of Cinderella and Prince Charming dancing, my daughters face was pure Joy.We were led to our table and were soon greeted by Drizzella, this is where the fun began. Drizzella took a shine to my 17 year old son and proceeded to hug and swoon over him for the next 15 minutes, much to his embarrassment. As Drizzella moved on to another table Anastasia appeared and she too spent a lot of time fussing over my son. We decided to hit the buffet once Anastasia had left and this turned out to be a big mistake because as we left the table Lady Tremaine arrived, she was so cross that we had left the table before she had arrived that she ordered us all back immediately and "told us off." She demanded to know which sister my son would marry. Throughout our time there Anastaisia and Drizsella proceeded to fight and heckle each other, "fighting" for my sons hand in marriage. At last it time for the moment my daughter had been waiting for as Cinderella made her way over to our table. My daughter was speechless and Cinderella spent a long time talking to her asking if her fairy godmother had given her her gown and which land she came from. As Cinderella was talking to us along came Prince charming Cinderella introduced him to my daughter and he also made a big fuss of her, they then proceeded to dance again right in front of our table.
We then made it up to the dinner buffet which held a huge array of food, from cold salads, hot soups and fish dishes to hot, hand carved meats with vegetables and mashed potatoes. There were also "chefs specials" of Mongolian beef and jasmine rice. The children's section featured favourites such as hotdogs, pizza and chicken tenders. Children and adults were welcome to eat from all sections of the buffet and everything we ate was delicious. For me the stand out dishes were the Mongolian beef and the famous strawberry soup although I'm still not sure if this is a dessert or a starter. The desserts were adorable consisting of small bite sized cheesecakes and tarts. I had pre-booked a surprise birthday cake from the Grand Floridian bakery, Cinderella themed of course, and mentioned this to our server quietly when we arrived. After we had finished eating and a quick nod to the server, the cake was brought out whilst everyone sang happy birthday. The cake itself was huge and exactly what I had pictured and the look on my family's face was priceless. The cake attracted a lot of attention from other guests and the characters, even lady Tremaine softened just enough to wish my daughter happy birthday and tell her how beautiful both she and her cake was. We spent around 3 hours at 1900 Park Fare and enjoyed every single second, we never felt rushed and the character interaction we received was above and beyond anything we could ever have imagined. Each of the characters came to our table at least 3 times and each time spent a good amount of time with us. All of the food we ate was delicious and the whole experience was more than I could have wished for, this was definitely something my daughter will remember for the rest of her life. I would recommend this dinning experience to anyone who is looking for amazing character interaction and good food although it is expensive, we would definitely return again for a special occasion.
